Continuous rooflights are long, unbroken light bands that run the length of a roof, delivering even daylight over large floor areas from a single glazed run rather than dozens of separate openings. Also called rooflight strips or light bands, they are built for the big flat and low-pitch roofs (up to 15°) of warehouses, factories and logistics centres. A rigid, lightweight aluminium frame carries a multiwall polycarbonate cover - with a special fabric interlayer where a Broof(t1)/NRO external fire rating is required - on a galvanised-steel base 150–750 mm high, insulated with mineral wool, EPS or PIR.

Instead of specifying a separate daylighting product and separate smoke vents, the design team can run a single continuous rooflight with EN 12101-2 smoke flaps integrated at the required points. Integrated flaps are available as single-leaf (1000 × 1000 mm up to 2000 × 3000 mm) or double-leaf (1600 × 1600 mm up to 3000 × 3000 mm), classified SL 250/550/900 for reliable operation under load, and driven electrically (24 V) or pneumatically. Ventilation-only flaps use a 230 V drive for everyday air changes. This one-element approach simplifies the roof, reduces the number of penetrations and is a distinctive part of what AWAK offers as a single-source manufacturer of both daylighting and smoke ventilation.
